PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER

​The Town of Newland is seeking a public works maintenance worker to perform various duties related to all aspects of town related maintenance.

 

These duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintenance repair of all town maintained infrastructure including water distribution lines and wastewater connection lines, town maintained roads, sidewalks, culverts storm drains, etc.

• Equipment operation: town owned equipment including light truck, mowers, loaders, etc.

• Sanitation & Refuse: Collection of yard waste, limbs and trash from public property. 

• Emergency response to include snow removal and debris removal. Infrastructure repairs during emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license 

• Ability to lift 75+ pounds

• Work in extreme temps and perform strenuous manual labor.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities 

• Working knowledge of standard tools and technologies for construction and maintenance

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions 

• Ability to establish working relationships with town employees and citizens.
